Why I Love Golf
http://www.nytimes.com/2009/07/29/opinion/29friedman.html?em
When we get to the pearly gates, I'm not sure where I'll head first: the first tee, the card room or the race track.
"That’s the point. Baseball, basketball and football are played on flat surfaces designed to give true bounces. Golf is played on an uneven terrain designed to surprise. Good and bad bounces are built into the essence of the game. And the reason golf is so much like life is that the game — like life — is all about how you react to those good and bad bounces. Do you blame your caddy? Do you cheat? Do you throw your clubs? Or do you accept it all with dignity and grace and move on, as Watson always has. Hence the saying: Play one round of golf with someone and you will learn everything you need to know about his character."

44 & 53

Those are the days we have to wait before USC takes on San Jose State and the Chargers face Oakland on Monday night, respectively. I know what Doin' Work is thinking. It's still July, we can't start talking college ball yet. I can't help it anymore. Did you guys here the Padres were relegated to triple AAA? Yup, from now on, I will refer to them as the Temecula Padres. If Lake Elsinore fields a single A team, I'm thinking Temec is next in line. That season is a disaster, KOBE! already did his thang, Jimmie Johnson and Smoke are doing well, but that's a long season...it's time to talk what I live for: football.
So before I publish my detailed season preview posts next month, I'll just give you a tease. BTW, Ben if you can figure oot a way to charge a subscription for special content on this post, let me know. I'm thinking $8.95 per preview or $14.95 for both. It's going to be that good.
I found this article recently and couldn't agree more. Remember the name Will Harris gentlemen. He's the Matt Cassel of the group. He will get drafted somewhere in the first 2 rounds and most likely won't start this season. Slideshow, what would you think of a special package (que nuevas) with Mays at OLB or some hybrid position closer to the line of scrimmage and Harris, Pinkard at SS, FS? It's a reach, but he's got the body of a rush DE but can move like Deion. Rocky is creative and toward the end of last year, Mays was sent on some safety biltz. Just wanted to whet your football appetite.
King James or Queen B?
Isn't this what I've been saying about this little girl since she was 16 years old? Get over yourself Queen James!

Rod of Asclepius Vs. Bronze Serpent
1. A. Asclepius was said to have lived around 1300 BCE B. According to Bible Aaron live around 1300 BCE
Edge: Even
2. A. Asclepius represented the healing aspect of medical arts, it was said that he either used snakes to heal or believed they had healing properties
B. In Numbers 21:4-9 God tells Aaron to construct a bronze serpent so that whomever is bitten by a snake can just look towards it and be healed
Edge: Aaron. Looking at a replica of a snake as opposed to actually using it is far more credible
3. A. The original Hippocratic Oath began: I swear by Apollo, the healer, Asclepius. . .
B. In the mormon church, the Aaronic Order is the lesser order of priesthood
Edge: Asclepius
4. A. Zeus killed Asclepius with a lightning bolt from fear that he might make all humans immortal
B. God promised the Jews he would lead them to the promised land. After 40 years of sitting in the desert Aaron started getting impatient, so God punished him by not allowing him to step into the promised land. Ever.
Edge: I have to give it to Aaron, I would have gotten impatient after 40 minutes.
5. A. After killing him, Zeus made a constellation in the stars, Ophiuchus, or, the snake holder.
B. in 2 Kings 18:4 King Hezekiah has the bronze serpent destroyed
Edge: Asclepius
