    I think we will all have some variation of the afore mentioned top 5 give or take a couple, mine are as follows:

    1. Cristiano Ronaldo
    2. Lionel Messi
    3. Samuel Et'o
    4. Xavi (is there a better true midfielder in the game right now?)
    5. Theo Walcott (young gun, soon to be a household name)

    I should clarify, I originally had Ballack in and I definitely think he's top 10 along with Lambert, but with yesterdays game so fresh in my mind I couldnt resist the urge to put Xavi in there, the guy is playing awesome

    It's hard to argue Xavi in the top 5 when they played for all the marbles and won, and he is playing awesome. Was there any question this Barcelona team wouldn't take it after managing to keep Eto'o when Guardiola took over as coach at the club? No offense to Ronaldinho and Deco but Messi is Maradona incarnate, Eto'o's arguably the best striker in the world, and as slideshow asked: Is there a better true midfielder in the game right now who's jersey does not say Xavi on the back?

    Oh Sho! Guardiola made it pretty clear when he arrived that there was a new sheriff and new philosophy in town. It's obvious now but when he first let Deco and Ronaldhino go people thought he was crazy, how are you going to release so many seasoned vets at one time? Not to mention the team captain! Tip of the hat to him though, along with the front office they clearly knew the hand they held. Too bad Rafa couldn't be there for this one. I knows he's reckless but he's still my favorite footballer.
